Aggressive Behaviour in Cornelia de Lange Syndrome


The term aggressive behaviour refers to any behaviour that has the potential to cause injury to another person.  When we use the phrases ‘aggression’ or ‘aggressive behaviour’, we do not mean to imply that an individual with Cornelia de Lange syndrome is intentionally trying to hurt another person. In the clip below you will see an example of someone with Cornelia de Lange syndrome showing aggressive behaviour.

 

Prevalence and Frequency of Aggressive Behaviour in Cornelia de Lange Syndrome

Interestingly, children and adults with Cornelia de Lange syndrome show significantly less aggression than children and adults who have the same degree of intellectual disability.
